Whittier IPA is an independent practice association focused on bringing physicians and healthcare professionals together. Our goal is to foster meaningful relationships, strengthen physician engagement, and support a collaborative healthcare environment.

Who We Are
Whittier Independent Practice Association (IPA) is an association of physicians in the Merrimack Valley founded in 1984. The organization represents approximately 250 multispecialty providers who have come together through affiliation agreements to work together on new and innovative ways to advance healthcare in our community.
Our members enjoy the benefits of belonging to Beth Israel Lahey Health, a world-renowned provider network, while maintaining autonomy and individuality within their own practices. The organization also works with Anna Jaques Hospital.

Our goal is to be a strong voice for our members within an ever-changing healthcare landscape in Massachusetts and beyond.

We leverage best practices in clinical excellence and data analytics to help providers increase efficiency and improve patient health outcomes.
Supporting Practice Success
Our priorities include helping member practices position themselves for financial success through overseeing contracts with health plans, sharing best practices, and supporting initiatives that improve practice efficiency and patient outcomes.
We are constantly evolving and bringing new initiatives to our members to assist with the imperative of lowering overhead costs wherever possible, along with “best practice” sharing for physician practice management services and other endeavors.
Connected to the Community
Our Primary Care Physicians have deep ties to the community and leverage well-established relationships with a large network of talented specialists. These relationships support coordinated care and help connect patients with trusted providers across the region.
